Arizona

We had a really great trip to Arizona to visit our family there. William and Henry were very well behaved on the plane. They were very attentive to plane safety. My family, my mom especially, were so cute about us coming. Bunny and Didn met us at the airport with my mom. We felt so loved! My mom bought every food we like, tons of candy, and a present for the grandkids every day in preparation for our visit. The boys, of course, loved it! She had these little cups (aka shot glasses) for the kids to fill up with candy to eat from the candy store. She got out some of our old toys and set up a little play room. It was so cute! One day the kids got flashlights and she took them outside to explore with them that night.

Henry has a monkey in a baby carrier on his back. So cute!

We stayed really busy this trip. One morning we decided to go to the zoo. It was only supposed to be around 90 degrees that morning and I hadn't been to the Phoenix Zoo in years. It was super humid, but we had fun before we totally roasted in the heat. We pulled up to the zoo and Nathan said "Oh. This is Phoenix-y." Haha! Yes, it is a zoo in the middle of the dessert. Cacti and all! The boys really enjoyed the petting zoo and the tractor right out front of the petting zoo.

On Saturday we went to a water park. I didn't take my camera, but we had a blast! Corinne came with us and we were so happy to have her ride the slides with us while the other person stayed with the children. William was a little nervous about some of the slides, but Henry had no fear! He was hilarious! They had a lot of slides there for kids and I think Henry did most of them. He loved going down a few of them all by himself with a life jacket on. It was like Disneyland all over again. We would go down a slide and he would be so happy saying "See dat?! See dat?!" (meaning he was asking us if we saw him go down). So funny! Then he would cry until we did another one. There were many tantrums thrown with him trying to drag a giant tube up the stairs by himself to go down a slide again. After watching Henry go down, William gathered enough courage to try most of the slides too.

A big highlight of the trip for me was taking Stanton and Jenni out to dinner. Stanton just returned from a mission to Spain and got engaged to Jenni two weeks later! We are so happy for them! They are the cutest couple ever! We're very excited to come back in 2 months for their wedding. We met them for dinner at a restaurant in Scottsdale and had so much fun talking with them!

Then, on Sunday we had the big event! Blake's baby blessing! It was fun to get together with everyone again.

The "Thomas" boys and men

As always, William loved playing with my cousins. He was so excited to see Robyn. They are really cute together! We really love going to Mesa to hang out with the girls and Mark and Cami. Mark got released as Bishop a few weeks prior. We are so happy for him and it makes us think there is an end in sight!

I really wanted to take the boys to the hospital to show them where he works and what I did as a nurse. We had lunch in at his office and had fun hanging out with him. All of the grandkids have summer birthdays so we had a mini Christmas with my their birthday gifts from my dad. William and Henry were super excited to open their cap guns. I really thought that would be their favorite gift, but Henry has not let the froggy pillow pet out of his sight since we've been home. After lunch I asked if we could show them the exam rooms. We showed them this microscope type thing that is on the end of a long arm. Henry takes one look at it and yells "backhoe!" HAHA! So funny! Later that night we had a nice dinner with Daddy, too. William was more interested in Brian's shrimp and prawn entree than his own cheese pizza/flatbread. It was really fun to spend time with Daddy Monk!

After the office we met Grandpa and Grandma for some frozen yogurt. We have recently discovered that the frozen yogurt shops where you add your own toppings are one of their favorite treats. We definitely agree! It was a little hectic with the boys running wild and Lexi just looking at them with a puzzled face, but it was so fun!

4 Great grand kids!

Great trip! Good thing we get to do it again in October :-)

Yay! Such a fun trip! And this also got me excited to go again for the wedding. It's funny that you kept saying two months, when it's more like two weeks now. Lol. Can you please send me the pic of you & lexi & the one of you, Cami, Kim, etc at the blessing luncheon? Thanks, doll! :) Haha.
