Independence Day!

Oh how I love the 4th of July! The children looked so cute in their red, white, and blue for church the day before. As usual, I got up very early to save a spot at the parade for us. This year we were joined by some cousins and uncle Jordan. It was so much fun! Later in the afternoon we went to a neighborhood bbq and party. We watched fireworks with some neighbors that night. It was a great day!

We watched some caterpillars turn into butterflies! This is always exciting for the boys. This time we got a book that explained the process in detail. That was fun to learn a bit more since William and Henry are older.

Jordan came home from his mission to Argentina! It was so exciting!! He was so happy to be home and see everyone. We had a fantastic day with him. We went up to the mountains and had lunch while the children played in the stream. The kids had a blast!

My baby turned 5 months old. She is such a doll. She is very smiley and loves to talk and squeal. She is always moving her legs and feet. Always. When she's mad she just moves one leg. When she's happy or anxious, she moves both. It's funny how others have started to notice this. I told Nathan about it probably a hundred times while I was pregnant with her. She is still very particular about some things like which side she nurses on, where you sit her to play, what time she wants to eat, etc. I have been trying to get her to sleep through the night. You can set your watch by her. She has specific times that she wakes up in the night and cries even if she has already eaten. For example, she cries at 6:30 most mornings just to let us know she is awake and then she usually goes back to sleep. Silly girl! She is very interested in food. Mostly she likes to put things in her mouth, but not eat them. The boys still love to play with her. One morning I found them making her a crown and toys out of Squigs.

William and Henry did a Lego robot camp for 2 weeks. They learned some impressive things!

Happy Birthday, H!

I cannot believe that Henry is 6 years old! For his birthday cake, he made a neat Minecraft Lego scene and wanted some torch candles on the sides of the cake. He was really excited to receive a cool pirate card and a Minecraft Lego set. He loves all things Lego and is very talented with them.

We had a great Minion themed  water birthday party on the day of his birthday with lots of his friends. We had a water balloon fight, slip and slide, pinata, and lots of fun food. They ate pizza, bananas with minions on them, and Minion Twinkies for dessert.

Henry still loves to do crafts and make things for other people. He is learning a lot about cooking. He can cook tortillas, Easy mac, oatmeal, Bagel bites, Tacquitos, and a few other things all by himself. He loves to be in the kitchen! He has been struggling with behavior quite a bit for the past few years. He is currently in a program that we are hoping will help him and the rest of the family. Nathan and I feel like we are constantly trying different methods to help him express himself in a better, more appropriate way. Hopefully, something will help at some point. Henry has so many good qualities and we love him very much!

We went to Lagoon for the first time and loved it! Katelyn and Grandma came with us. It was such a fun day. We were exhausted by the end. Jennie and her kids joined us for a few hours. She knows the park a lot better than we did so she was able to suggest some fun rides. The bumper cars were one of the biggest hits with the boys. I think we will definitely go back sometime.

Disney Fun!!

While Nathan was on his school trip, we got the funnest package from Aunt Kristen!! I had mentioned to Kristen that I wanted to take the children to Disneyland while Nathan was gone. Since we couldn't logistically do that, she sent Disney to us!! She created several different activities in the themes of Disneyland rides.

We  went on a treasure hunt dressed as pirates. We found gold coins, Rolos, and Pirate Booty. We had a Disney movie night and the boys enjoyed their "treasure" treats during the movie.
We played Finding Nemo in the bathtub with Nemo fishes, washcloths, and toy submarines.

We had an amazing electric parade! We had light up Mickey balloons, glow sticks, and Mickey photo props as we danced to Disney music. William and Henry made some really cool creations with the glow sticks.

We had a Mickey themed meal with Mickey pancakes and fun decorations. We also colored Cars coloring pages and made toy airplanes, and played a matching game. It was SO FUN!!! We all loved every minute of it. We stretched the fun over a few days

Memorial Day

Memorial Day weekend was lovely! Henry showed William how to make his special strawberry creation. We went out to dinner with Grandma and Grandpa and Boose. After dinner we visited the cemetery. Grandma taught the boys about her parents. Then we went over to visit my relatives.

Nathan got home from his 16 day international business trip on Sunday. We were very happy to see him!! On Monday we went to the beach at the lake. The children loved it! William and Henry got to try out mini kayaks. We also rented a paddle boat. Sophie hated the life vest and cried for most of the time.
