Last weekend we had an incredible vacation to Chicago with Nathan's brother Bryan. William got to spend the weekend with Auntie Amanda and Grandma and Grandpa Bleak. We all had a wonderful time!
We went to the top of the Sears' Tower (now called Willis Tower) which is the tallest building in North America. They have a brand new "gimic" at the top. They have these glass boxes that extend outside of the building so you can look straight down over 100 stories! It was really scary. On Saturday we went to dinner at Maggiano's. Anyone who knows Bryan knows that this is his all time favorite restaurant. Unfortunately, there is not a Maggiano's in Utah, so he makes a point to visit one wherever he travels. Luckily, Nathan and I got to come along this time. They have delicious Italian food.
On Sunday, we went to a church building in South Chicago that happened to be about a block away from President Barack Obama's house. It's pretty hard to see because of all the trees, but here it is.
Later Sunday night we had a picnic on the banks of Michigan lake. It was beautiful to see the lights all down the shore.
Monday was a very busy day. We went to the famous Shedd Aquarium. It was so cool! We even got to see dolphins, beluga whales, and penguins perform in a show.
Nathan and Bryan were pretty good sports about letting me take their pictures :-)
This is at the end of Navy pier.
And the highlight of the trip..... The Chicago Cubs! This was our main reason for visiting Chicago. Nathan has been a Cubs fan since he was a young boy. So, his dream came true and we got to visit Wrigley Field over his 29th birthday! Nathan and Bryan went to 2 games together. On Saturday they sat on the 2nd row!! I went to the Magnificent Mile to go shopping while they were at the game on Saturday and let me just say it truly is magnificent! Then, on Monday we all went to another game together.
We got to see the Cubs win! It was the best baseball game that I have ever been to. The Cubs have so many loyal fans. There is just so much excitement and energy at Wrigley Field. It was just such an amazing trip. Nathan and I had so much fun just enjoying each other and relaxing together. Thank you so much to all of our loving babysitters that made it possible!!!
