We were thrilled to have Bunny and Didn come to visit us in July! They are very dedicated temple workers and spent part of the temple summer closure break with us. We had a great time learning about family history. We visited Bunny's grandmother's grave in the Provo City Cemetery. She died of breast cancer when Bunny's mom was only 9 years old.
On another day we drove out to Tooele to visit the graves of Didn's parents. We had a fun picnic on my great grandparent's graves(Helen Charlotte Marie Brock and William Murray). They are buried next to Didn's father's parents. It was interesting to learn about the history of how Tooele was settled. I did not know what a large part the Shields' family played in the development of that community. The main road in the cemetery is even named Shields Lane. There are several members of the Shields family buried there dating back to pioneer times. The Murray family, who Didn's father was named after, came to the US from Scotland after they joined the church. The Murray clan even has their own tartan in Scotland!
William and Henry love to find their names in cemeteries. Henry wanted his picture taken by one "Henry" that he found.
Bunny was so thoughtful and brought up some Christmas trees for the boys to decorate as a Christmas in July craft/service project. We will donate them to the elderly or the hospital when the Christmas season comes. The boys had such a fun time doing it with her!
