Disneyland Day 2 and Tide Pools

The original plan for this trip was for Grandma and Grandpa to meet us in California and for us to spend some time together. Unfortunately, Grandma was not feeling well with a broken wrist and some bouts with cellulitis. We didn't think they were going to make it, but they did! They drove out on Wednesday night and spent a lot of the day with us on Thursday at Disneyland and then drove home on Friday. It was a quick trip for them. We were so thrilled and grateful that they went through all the trouble to spend a few hours with us!! We had lots of fun together. Grandma said she just wanted to hold Carter on her lap. He was thrilled to be held by her. It was really sweet. We did a character breakfast this time at the Grand Californian hotel. It was really good food, but as Amanda warned me no "A list" characters. Haha! It was still a good experience. Splash Mountain was by far the favorite ride this year.

One of Nathan's fondest childhood memories is getting one of these huge suckers at Disneyland. I think I have heard him talk about it several times. In fact, that trip to Disneyland with the sucker might be one of his only childhood memories. HAHA! So every time we go he likes to re live it with our boys.

It was hilarious how tired Henry was! He would fall asleep the minute he sat down. In the afternoon we decided to ride the train. He sat down and fell asleep and fell forward. A nice man caught him from behind and prevented him from hitting his head on the bench in front of us. He did the same thing when were riding the shuttle back to our car later that night. Carter, on the other hand, was wired! He was so hyper by the end of the day. He kept squealing and smiling at everybody.
Carter touching Henry wondering why he is asleep and not as hyper as he is!

Before we left Newport we visited the tide pools.
