Hospital Toy Drop Off

September
For William's birthday party in August, we invited guests to donate a toy to Primary Children's instead of giving a gift to William. In September, we visited the hospital to deliver everything we collected. It was a great day! William did a great job dropping the toys off. We got to walk around for a little bit and show him where he spent the first month of his life and where he was born. We are forever grateful for the children's hospital and the staff who saved William's life. A HUGE thanks to all of our wonderful friends who donated so much, too!

While we were up in Salt Lake, we decided to visit "This is the Place" state park. It had been several years since Nathan or I had been there. It's a really neat place to visit. They have a ton of things to do there. While we were riding the train, Henry was very excited that we passed a backhoe.

They have recently restored Brigham Young's home. My favorite part was touring his home and hearing stories about Brigham Young and his family. We also had fun visiting the petting zoo, riding ponies, and taking the mini train ride. The favorite part for William and Henry was panning for gold. You get to sift through dirt in a small creek and look for small flecks of gold. Then you can take the gold you find to the bank and exchange it for candy. William was really into it and found a lot of gold. Henry only wanted to throw rocks into the water. Haha! It's a neat place to visit and we will definitely go back.

I will forever now feel like a horrible person if I have a birthday party for my kids & accept presents for them, so thanks for that. Jk. Lol. I honestly think that was really neat that you did that. And what a great teaching moment too. I never thought of doing anything like that before.
