Happy 4th of July!

We have come to LOVE the 4th of July. About 3 years ago we started some traditions that have created a lot of fun memories for our family.
We start the holiday by going to the parade. This year I got up at 4:30 am to go save us a spot. I intended on sleeping for a few hours until everyone got there at 9 but I was just too excited. We got a really good spot this year and the weather was perfect. It was overcast and not too hot. (still hot enough to enjoy some popsicles though) We got to sit on the grass right under a big tree. Grandma, Grandpa, Katelyn, Jordan, Bryan, and Jennie came with us this year. Part of our tradition is to have a fast food breakfast. This year it was McDonald's. William was old enough to really enjoy the parade. He loved the motorcyles and the fire trucks. All of the little towns have their town royalty on their floats. William called them "princesses" and his favorite thing to do was to run and tell Grandma that more princesses were coming. It was really cute. I guess he thought that she would really like them. William also tried cotton candy for the first time.

After the parade we went to walk around the Freedom Festival and ate lunch. Kately waited in the longest line to take William on a ferris wheel. She is such a nice aunt! He was happy to go with her. After lunch we went home and took a nap. Then we had a picnic lunch on the living room floor while we watched "Never Say Never" (the Justin Beiber movie) which the whole family really enjoyed :-).
We met up with Bryan and Jennie and Jennie's family for fireworks later that night. It was such a fun holiday!
