The Best News in the World

On Friday, William had the best picture taken of him EVER: a chest x-ray showing two good sized lungs, a heart in its proper place, and a whole diaphragm! It was amazing! I can't even describe how beautiful this x-ray is. I wish I had a copy of it to frame.

We went to visit Dr. Rollins up at Primary Children's Medical Center who operated on William last August to repair his diaphragmatic hernia. He is so happy with William's growth and progress. He says he is growing and developing like he should. Of course, he will be at risk his whole life for forming scar tissue (like what happened in October when he had to have emergency surgery) but that is still a relatively small risk. There is also still a chance of having the hernia open up again. That chance goes down drastically after the first two years. So, we are half way there! Other than that, William looks great! Dr. Rollins also said that he doesn't feel the need to do any other function tests on his lungs because Wills looks so healthy.

It's neat to go back and see these doctors. They are very talented and very caring. William's diagnosis was rare enough that they remember us and him, which doesn't happen very often because they see so many patients. It makes us feel special!

We feel so overwhelmed by this blessing and glowing report. We truly feel that William has been healed. Even with his diaphragm repaired we didn't know how well his lungs would ever grow or function. We prayed so hard for so long that they would grow well. We feel that our prayers have been answered and we have been extremely blessed. We know that William has been healed through the priesthood and extremely skilled medical professionals. We are so grateful! I can't say that enough. After many, many months of tears of worry, fear, and pain we are so grateful to have tears of joy on the year anniversary! Our most sincere thanks to our many friends and family that also fasted and prayed so hard for our little boy!
