Our William turned 5 years old in August! It's kind of hard to believe how grown up he is becoming. Not surprisingly, he wanted to celebrate his birthday the same way Henry celebrated his: choose a special cake, cake and ice cream at Grandma and Grandpa's house, and out to dinner at Brick Oven!
We had a fun time decorating the house for him and opening presents. He was so excited to get his first real bike! He was also really excited about the Batman watch that Aunt Goo-goo sent him. He got lots of fun toys.
He had his mind set on a Darth Vader cake. He doesn't even really know who Darth Vader is, but one of his friends had a Star Wars birthday party and ever since then he has been really into "Dark" Vader. I tried to prepare him that we may not be able to find such a cake. I took him to the store and we decided we could buy some action figures to put on a cake we made if we couldn't find a ready made Darth Vader cake. Would you believe we actually found the perfect cake?! William spotted it from very far away and I couldn't believe it. I was so happy for him! He was absolutely thrilled!
The famous cake! The heads of the characters were rings that William gave to his favorite boys.
At 5 years old William is 39.5 pounds (43rd percentile) and 44 inches tall (73rd percentile).
