Here is a little update on what the boys have been up to.

William:
I was upstairs one morning when William wandered down to the basement. I kept hearing a beeping noise. I didn't think much of it. A few minutes later I went downstairs to see what he was up to. William had decided to cook some popcorn, so he put the bag in the microwave, with the plastic still on, and just started pushing buttons until the popcorn burned! Our house smelled so bad for days! The inside of the microwave is still nasty and I don't know if I will ever be able to get the residue off. I asked him how the popcorn tasted and he said "it's too hot."

William is enjoying playing with Henry more. Henry is not enjoying it as much, yet. William loves to play with his tractors and trucks. One of his favorite things to do is to line his trucks up around Henry. Unfortunately, Wills gets very upset if Henry moves any of his trucks. As you can see from the picture, the trucks are parked so closely that if Henry wiggles an inch, a truck gets moved...

Henry:
Henry is such a happy, easy going baby! We really enjoy his personality. He is very sweet and loves to cuddle.

We have had some issues lately with Henry's feedings. He had all of the symptoms of food allergies. I eliminated some foods from my diet and that helped for a little bit, but then his symptoms got worse. I took him to the pediatrician several times and I didn't feel like I was getting any answers or making any progress. He was waking up almost every hour at night with very painful gas for many months. I really didn't know what to do. It was frustrating to not know how to help him and to not get any sleep for so long. We felt like we were in survival mode.
At the beginning of December I finally took him to a Pediatric Allergist. After doing a scratch test on Henry's back he determined that he was not truly allergic to anything. The doctor was very kind and said that while he doesn't have the immune response of allergies, he still has all of the other symptoms of having trouble digesting foods. He said we didn't need to withold anything from his diet. He recommended trying Good Start formula because it has smaller proteins that are easier to digest. Withing 24 to 48 hours of putting Henry on that formula he started sleeping through the night and his symptoms subsided! It was hard to wrap my mind around the fact that formula is better for him than my milk. It was tough to stop nursing so early, but we are so happy he is feeling better! It was a rough 6 months! I was so happy to finally get some answers. It's worth it to pay the more expensive co-pay and just see a specialist. I'm glad that we persevered and found the doctor that could help our Henry.
I love these little boys so much! I am happy that they are becoming friends. It's fun to have 2 same gender children so close together. I hope they will continue to be close to each other through life.
